The Walk That Most Men Will Never Take

Some nights, you just need to be alone. No noise, no people, no distractions, just you and your thoughts. That’s exactly what I wanted last night. So instead of heading home, I started walking. No destination, no plan. Just the city and me.

The streets were alive, cars speeding past, street vendors calling out for customers, groups of friends laughing like they had no worries in the world. I passed by a guy selling cigarettes and cha on the footpath, his eyes tired but sharp. A rickshaw puller sat on the side, stretching his arms, probably after a long day of carrying people who don’t even look him in the eye.

It made me think. Life is a battlefield, but most people don’t even know they’re in a fight. Some have already given up, sitting on the sidelines, waiting for a miracle that will never come. Others are grinding, but without direction, running in circles.

I kept walking. The deeper into the city I went, the quieter it got. I passed by an old gym with the shutters down, its faded sign barely hanging on. I imagined the warriors who trained there, men who came to escape weakness, to build strength.

Then I reached a point where the road was empty. Just streetlights, my footsteps, and the sound of distant traffic. That’s when it hit me.

Most people will never take this walk. They’ll never spend time alone, never ask themselves real questions. They fill their lives with distractions, scared to face the truth. But the truth is simple, if you don’t decide who you’re going to be, the world will decide for you.

I stood there for a while, looking at the city, feeling like I was seeing it for the first time. Then I turned around and walked back, knowing exactly where I was headed.

Because while others are lost, I know where I’m going.

You have to win this game, no matter what. There will be hardships, there will be the toughest times. You'll be broken, you'll be hopeless, you'll feel like dying, but if you just stick with it and don't give up, things will change.
